Top star Kim Hye-soo is throwing a refreshing ‘one shot’ into this chaotic world.

She plays the role of Oh So-ryong, a vicious investigative reporter who sticks her camera in front of evildoers that neither the police nor the prosecution can catch, in the Disney+ original drama ‘Trigger’, which will be aired for the first time on the 15th. Through the process of persistently digging into cases to “prevent bad guys from doing bad things anymore”, she humorously yet seriously portrays real social issues on screen.

In particular, Kim Hye-soo‘s unwavering reporting, who believes in “a world where justice and truth live and breathe”, is expected to maximize the strange catharsis as it intersects with the recent political situation where truth and lies are mixed and confused. The atrocities of the cult and the extremely brutal murders in the drama are depicted so elaborately and realistically that they are reminiscent of real events, adding to the sense of immersion.

Kim Hye-soo, who is considered a hit maker on the small screen, was also moved by the “sincerity” of ‘Trigger’. At a production conference held at the Conrad Seoul Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 8th, Kim Hye-soo explained, “It deals with serious social issues, but the colors that run through the whole thing were very cheerful. I chose ‘Trigger’ because it had a clear message and a good balance of wit, sincerity, and catharsis.”

In order to realistically portray the role of the host and main PD of the current affairs program ‘Trigger’, Kim Hye-soo looked back and said, “I mobilized all my connections to meet with several current affairs and educational PDs and receive advice.” The costumes are borrowed from the clothes that the PDs actually wore while on set, and the interior of the vehicle is also modeled after the PDs’ vehicles that always carry long-term business trip equipment.

Oh So-ryong‘s so-called ‘cleverness’, who overcomes crises in his own way, was created with a passion that even burned ‘fighting spirit despite injuries”. Kim Hye-soo said, “I ruptured my thigh muscle while filming a chase scene,” but “It seems that actors become much more powerful when the camera rolls. It was amazing that I didn’t feel any pain or fear.“

Jung Sung-il and Joo Jong-hyuk are firmly supporting Kim Hye-soo. They play the roles of a PD who is suddenly transferred to the ‘Trigger’ team from the drama department and a contract assistant director whose goal is to be converted to a regular employee, respectively, and they work well with Kim Hye-soo.

Kim Hye-soo said, ”The chemistry between them and me is so much fun,“ and added, ”Watching these two people with so many ideas, I was able to freely do the ad-libs that I had been holding back on. I think the viewers will be surprised by our new side.“
