Newcomer Kim Hyun-jin made a perfect home theater debut through Channel A‘s weekend drama ‘Check In Hanyang’.
‘Check In Hanyang’, which Kim Hyun-jin stars in, is a youth romance historical drama that depicts the love, ambition, and eventful growth of young people set in Yongcheonru, the largest guest house in Joseon.
Kim Hyun-jin plays Eunseong-gun, the cousin of Muyeong-gun Lee Eun (Bae In-hyuk) and the son of the late King. Eunseong-gun is an unfortunate prince who thought he would be cast out after the king passed away, but thanks to his cousin Muyeong-gun Lee Eun, he is living comfortably in a corner of the palace.
Kim Hyun-jin is receiving favorable reviews from viewers for naturally blending into the drama through his bromance with Bae In-hyuk. Despite ‘Check In Hanyang’ being her debut drama, she is receiving favorable reviews for breathing life into the character by expressing the various emotions of Eun-seong-gun, who has inner wounds, with her charming mask and deep gaze.
Kim Eui-seong, the CEO of Ahn Company, Kim Hyun-jin’s agency, said, “I saw Kim Hyun-jin‘s musical performance in Daehangno and thought, ‘This is an actor!’. I hope this lovely actor is loved by even more people,“ he said.
Kim Hyun-jin, a graduate of the Korea National University of Arts’ Department of Theater, debuted in 2014 with the musical ‘Love Letter’ and appeared in various works such as the musicals ‘Hero’, ‘The Bridges of Madison County’, ‘Thrill Me’, ‘Spring Awakening’, ‘The Goddess is Watching’, and the plays ‘The History Boys’ and ‘Elephant Song’.
In each work she appeared in, she received favorable reviews for her outstanding character analysis skills and versatile acting that goes beyond delicacy.
Kim Hyun-jin, who proved her potential in her first drama, ‘Check In Hanyang’, with stable acting as a three-dimensional character, is drawing attention to how her future acting and Eun-seong-gun‘s story will unfold.
Meanwhile, Channel A’s weekend drama ‘Check In Hanyang’, starring Kim Hyun-jin, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 p.m.
