The filming site of tvN‘s ‘Edward Lee’s Country Cook’ has been revealed.

‘Edward Lee‘s Country Cook’, scheduled to air for the first time in February, is a new program in which Chef Edward Lee, along with his perfect partner and special guest daughter Aden, and his three reliable managers - Byun Yo-han, Ko Ah-sung, and Cynthia - travel around the country and present a variety of concepts using seasonal winter ingredients. It remains to be seen what kind of unique dishes will be born the moment Chef Edward Lee touches Korean ingredients.

According to the production team, this journey will mark the beginning of a new challenge for Chef Edward Lee, who wants to be recognized not as an American chef, but as a Korean chef, ‘Lee Gyun’. Having taken over the entire United States with his cooking, he chose to come to Korea to find his identity as the Korean chef Lee Gyun. Chef Edward Lee, who described himself as a ‘mix human’ who cannot mix with either Korea or foreign countries on the Netflix entertainment show ‘Black and White Chef’, is finding his identity and is raising curiosity about whether he will be able to be ‘shouted out’ as a Korean chef by grandmothers in the countryside of Korea.

Chef Edward Lee believes that ‘’Edward Lee’s Country Cook’ is a very special opportunity to learn more about Korea. I want to travel to various regions of Korea and learn not only about food, but also about Korean culture. I am also very happy that I have three friends (Byun Yo-han, Ko Ah-sung, and Cynthia) to join me on this journey.”I want to make new friends through ‘’Edward Lee‘s Country Cook’.’ “I want to discover various foods and get inspired to create new recipes,” he revealed his ambition.

On the 9th, an on-site still was released that gives a glimpse into the family chemistry (chemistry abbreviated as compatibility or harmony) of Chef Edward Lee, Byun Yo-han, Ko Ah-sung, and Cynthia. Starting from Gangwon-do, the four of them research winter seasonal ingredients in various regions from Andong to Yeosu, and cook together. In the snow-covered Hwangtae Deokjang, they amicably divide and hang pollack on the deokjang, go to the market to look at seasonal ingredients, and learn about traditional Korean soybean paste while drying them, raising interest in what kind of chemistry these people will show as they spend every moment together, big and small. Go Ah-sung, who has often shown herself cooking on TV, Byun Yo-han, who is known to be very interested in cooking although this is her first time on a regular variety show, and Cynthia, are also expected to create dishes with Chef Edward Lee.

PD Kim Kwan-tae said, “I was impressed by Chef Edward Lee’s love and sincerity for Korean food in ‘Black and White Chef.’ I wanted to properly introduce Korean food by utilizing the infrastructure I have built up while producing various food-specialized programs including ‘Korean Food Battle’ with Chef Edward Lee. Please look forward to the colorful transformation of Korean food with our Korean food culture and Chef Edward Lee’s reinterpretation.”

‘Edward Lee’s Country Cook’ is scheduled to premiere on tvN in February.
