‘Motel California’ Lee Se-young revealed why she chose this production.
On the afternoon of the 9th, a production conference for MBC‘s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Motel California’ (hereafter referred to as ‘Motel Cali’) was held at the Golden Mouse Hall on the 1st floor of MBC in Sangam-gu, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Actors Lee Se-young, Na In-woo, Choi Min-soo, Kim Tae-hyung, Choi Hee-jin, and PD Kim Hyung-min attended the production conference that day.
On that day, Lee Se-young talked about her ongoing relationship with MBC following ‘Red Sleeves’, saying, “Because it was MBC, it wasn’t a choice. But I think we have a connection. Since I was young, the productions I‘ve appeared in the most have been MBC, and the food there was the best. So it felt like the closest broadcasting station to me. I am grateful to be with you again, and I am grateful for the opportunity, as many dramas fall through the cracks.”
When asked about the reason for appearing in “Motel California,” he said, “After reading the original novel, I thought that Kang-hee had a lot in common with me. I was so curious about how a child with deficiencies and traumas from the time he was growing up would grow up, and what kind of thoughts he would have as he lived. I wanted to meet him. I thought he was similar to me. That’s why I decided to appear in this work without hesitation.”
Meanwhile, “Motel California” depicts the twists and turns of a first love remodeling romance that a female protagonist, who was born in a motel in the countryside and grew up in a motel, experiences as she reunites with her first love in her hometown that she ran away to 12 years ago. It will premiere on Friday, January 10 at 9:50 p.m.
