About 4 years after the previous noise controversy, comedian Ahn Sangtae‘s current status has been reported.

On the MBN show ‘Special Scoop World - That Person Back Then’ that aired on the 9th, Ahn Sangtae was met at a local performance hall. Ahn Sangtae was shown on stage with his juniors, comedians Jung Seung-hwan and Song Young-gil.


Ahn Sangtae debuted in 2004 through KBS’s ‘Gag Concert’ and received much love for his reporter character, ‘Ahn Eo-bung’. Jung Seung-hwan responded, “If you think about Ahn Sangtae back in the old days as a comedian, his fame was amazing. He was a legend. At that time, a KBS announcer dashed in,” he said, recalling the past.

Ahn Sangtae, who returned to Seoul after safely completing the performance, spent time with his daughter. Ahn Sangtae said, “It’s been four years since I moved here, but I had to move a little early because of the controversy over noise between floors,” and recalled, “There was chaos back then. If I remember correctly, I felt like a bit of a criminal to the point where I couldn’t leave the house.”

In 2022, Ahn Sangtae was falsely accused of being a noise perpetrator. He said, “They said that what (the previous downstairs neighbor) said was true, so they said that nothing like that happened in the house below me and the house below that before,” and “I met them in court. I have never seen that woman before, but when I asked her why she wrote that (about the noise between floors), she said, “She said she wrote it because she was stressed out from raising a child.”

However, Ahn Sangtae said, “After that incident, I felt like a sinner,” and mentioned malicious comments, saying, “I’m not a sinner, but I couldn’t even go eat.” “There were cases where malicious comments about my daughter were cruel. There were even things like, ‘Cut off a part of her body.’ I was glad my child was young,” he confessed.

Ahn Sangtae also revealed his transformation into a film director, saying, “I’ve done about eight short films in six years.” He was preparing a film with his fellow comedians. He took charge of the script, filming, lighting, editing, props, and even acting himself.

The sound part was completed with the advice of singer Yook Joong-wan. When Yook Joong-wan, who was helping Ahn Sang-tae with his work, asked, “Hyung, how much profit did you make from producing this movie last time?”, Ahn Sang-tae honestly answered, “The profit was about 320,000 won a year.” However, Ahn Sang-tae smiled and said, “After making it, the audience may not be large, but I am very happy if people sympathize with the story I imagine and talk about it together. I do it for that feeling.”

Meanwhile, Ahn Sang-tae was embroiled in a controversy over noise between floors in 2021. At that time, Ahn Sang-tae received numerous malicious comments when Mr. A, who used to live downstairs, posted an expose about noise between floors. Accordingly, a lawsuit for damages was filed against Mr. A, and in June 2022, Ahn Sang-tae‘s legal representative said, “After a civil lawsuit that lasted over a year, Mr. A acknowledged that Ahn Sang-tae had made efforts to prevent noise between floors and that the post contained expressions that were different from the facts or had the potential for misunderstanding.”
