Actor Ahn Jae-wook revealed the reason he chose the project ahead of the first episode of ‘Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers!’.

The new KBS 2TV weekend drama ‘Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers!’ (directed by Choi Sang-yeol / written by Koo Hyun-sook), scheduled to air on Saturday, February 1 at 8 p.m., is a drama that depicts a mature family story created by the five unique brothers of the Eagle Brewery, a long-established brewery, and the eldest sister-in-law who suddenly becomes the head of the household after her husband‘s sudden death just ten days after her wedding.

Ahn Jae-wook meets viewers as Han Dong-seok, the chairman of LX Hotel, who was born with a diamond spoon in his mouth and only learned about poverty from books. With a clear sense of right and wrong, he is a character who needs to control everyone from his family to the hotel staff as he wishes. Dong-seok, a pure man who misses and cannot forget his wife who passed away 15 years ago, will show off his colorful charms that alternate between hot and cold.

Ahn Jae-wook said about why he chose the work, “The script was so interesting that I got sucked into it right away. He said, “The fresh material and unexpected development were interesting.”

He said that he put a lot of effort into understanding the subtle emotions that change in each scene, and explained, “Han Dong-seok is a pure man who visits his wife every week for 15 years after her death.” He also said, “He has a rather strong sense of self-interest, so he may seem prickly to others, but his love for his family is special.”

Ahn Jae-wook also added his own interpretation, saying, “Han Dong-seok may seem like the embodiment of narcissism, but the emotions and depth he holds inside are not just stiff people,” raising expectations for the Han Dong-seok character that he will play.

He also shared his thoughts on working with the actors. “I personally had high expectations because this is my first time working with most of the actors through this production. In particular, actress Uhm Ji-won is always bright on set and her synchronization with Kwang-sook in the drama was really high, which helped me a lot in acting,” he said, creating a warm atmosphere.

Ahn Jae-wook described ‘Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers!’ as ice cream with various flavors. The reason for this was, “It’s fun to choose from each character‘s story. The story of Dong-seok and Kwang-sook is especially interesting,” he said, foreshadowing a cheerful yet unique chemistry with Ma Kwang-sook in the drama.

KBS 2TV’s new weekend drama ‘Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers!’ will premiere on February 1st (Sat) at 8 PM as the follow-up to ‘The Iron Family.’
