Son Jung-eun, a former MBC announcer, revealed what led her to become a freelancer.

On the 299th episode of KBS JOY‘s ‘Ask Anything’, which aired at 8:30 PM on the 13th, Son Jung-eun, a former MBC announcer, visited the Bodhisattvas.

On this day, Son Jung-eun expressed her will, saying, “I want to break away from the stiff and cold image imprinted on the public after working mostly as a news anchor for the past 15 years.” Son Jung-eun is actually a bright and positive person and has a silly side, so much so that the announcer’s office even ranked her first as the person whose broadcast and real-life are the most different.

Son Jung-eun, who has been a freelancer for three years but has not joined an agency and has spent her time alone, opened by saying, “There was a big turning point in my life.”

She said, “My father passed away six years ago. It was hard for me as an only daughter. The following year, I ended up divorcing my husband.” She added, “Then, because I had to do broadcasts every day even though it was hard, it was mentally difficult for me to always smile and pretend to be bright at work.” She expressed her regret.

Son Jung-eun said, “I took a leave of absence for now. After a year, my heart healed and I gained the courage to quit MBC,” adding, “My seniors all tried to talk me out of it. I told them that I had no experience in entertainment and that there was nothing I could do if I went out with that image, but they said they would find a new path.”

Meanwhile, Seo Jang-hoon and Lee Soo-geun laughed at Son Jung-eun‘s confession and said, “It’s the best condition for the current broadcasting trend,” and “I can think of about 7 programs I could appear on at the moment,” and advised her to use this as an opportunity, making everyone laugh.
