Han Hye-jin, fecal terror → drunken intimidation atrocities reported ‘Shut your mouth’ (Anyone can be a boss)
‘Anyone can be a boss’ exposed the shocking atrocities of the customers one by one. At the same time, it presented survival solutions to self-employed people in crisis.
The first episode of SBS Plus‘ ‘Anyone can be a boss’ (directed by Kim Myung-ha, Kim Kyung-hwan) that aired on the 14th included the 3 MCs Han Hye-jin, Yoo Jung-soo, and Kim Ho-young looking into the unimaginable actions of the ‘bastards’ who make the self-employed cry and even seeking countermeasures for them. In addition, business expert Yoo Jung-soo immersed viewers by introducing a comprehensive customized solution that determines the existence of a store on the brink of life and death.
The owner of the ‘Salmon House’, the main character of the first episode, expressed his intention to “continue the store” despite Yoo Jung-soo’s decision to ‘close down’, causing a twist. ‘Anyone Can Be a CEO’, which vividly showed the joys and sorrows of the self-employed and realistic solutions, received enthusiastic interest and support from viewers.
MCs Han Hye-jin and Yoo Jung-soo, who were present in the studio that day, began the ‘Legal Solutions’ corner by a group of lawyers who will protect business owners from ‘Black Consumers’, along with the explanation that “By 2023, the number of business closure reports will approach 1 million. The cost of closing a business has increased more than that of starting one.” First, a video made public based on CCTV footage from the cafe owners was released, in which a customer committed a “defecation terror” on the cafe terrace even though the bathroom was right in front of them and then disappeared, shocking everyone. After seeing this, attorneys Kim Hye-jin and Lee Kyung-min suggested legal action, saying, “There is a possibility of charges of destruction, obstruction of business, public indecency, and a civil lawsuit.”
Next was CCTV footage from a bakery, in which the drunk “rascals” harassed the bakery owner and continued to spit on the store even after the police arrived. They also returned to the store and verbally abused the group. The shocked owner sued one of the “rascals” for obstruction of business and was fined 700,000 won.
However, the studio cast members were furious, saying, “The punishment is too light.” Attorney Lee Kyung-min said, “It‘s worth considering charges of intimidation, insult, and stalking,” and Attorney Kim Hye-jin advised, “Don’t just report it, but actively request a petition for strict punishment.”
Lastly, a recording file between a customer who had made a reservation at a nail shop in advance but was a “no-show” and the shop owner was made public. The customer, who was an hour and a half late for the appointment, demanded, “Please do the procedure,” even though the shop owner said, “According to the regulations, it is difficult to refund the reservation deposit.”
A tense argument ensued, but the customer waited for five hours, received the procedure, and left. Watching the frustrating situation, Yoo Jung-soo cautiously shared her opinion, saying, “In reality, this kind of thing happens the most frequently and causes the greatest trauma (to the bosses).” “If they were going to lose anyway, it might have been better to respond flexibly from the beginning.” Han Hye-jin said, “Even a top-level boss like Yoo Jung-soo has to close her eyes tightly to do this,” and added, “I wish there would be no more ‘no shows,’ as well as situations that appeal to emotions.”
Following the on-site reporting of the ‘bastards,’ Yoo Jung-soo‘s ’Business Solutions‘ corner began to save the bosses who were on the verge of going out of business. The first protagonist, the owner of a salmon restaurant, said, “The Ukraine-Russia war started right after I started my business, so the price of salmon skyrocketed. “We are considering closing down as the deficit has continued since opening a year ago,” he said.
Accordingly, Yoo Jung-soo visited the store in person and diagnosed ‘closure or survival.’ However, the owner prepared salmon with his bare hands without washing his hands and served it as a dish, and Yoo Jung-soo refused to evaluate the food, saying, “I absolutely cannot eat it.” Afterwards, Yoo Jung-soo went to inspect the kitchen and found rotten abalone and an unidentified sauce that the previous owner had left behind in the refrigerator. In particular, the owner shocked everyone by taking the temporary measure(?) of bringing in a ‘diffuser’ instead of cleaning the refrigerator. Yoo Jung-soo added, “At least I stored the main ingredient, salmon, in another refrigerator that was kept clean,” drawing the response, “That’s fortunate.”
In the midst of the overall crisis, Yoo Jung-soo had an in-depth interview with the owner. The CEO confessed, ”I receive overall help from my older brother, including financial support, financial management, and marketing.“ Yoo Jung-soo bitterly said, ”Is the person in front of me really the CEO?“ The CEO tearfully confessed the reason he had no choice but to receive help from his older brother, saying, ”I suffered from peritonitis for a long time and became depressed.“ Yoo Jung-soo also felt sorry for him because he had difficulty commuting to and from work due to his sore leg, and he had been staying at the store.
However, Yoo Jung-soo said, ”The store is currently running a deficit of more than 2 million won per month. He coolly diagnosed that “the boss is making a loss with his murderous labor,” and after showing his older brother the true face of the store, he said, “The studio will decide whether to ’close down or survive.‘”
After meeting the boss and his older brother again at the studio, Yoo Jung-soo said, “The boss is not well mentally or physically, and his health could deteriorate at any time, so we have decided to ’close down.‘” He made a proposal, saying, “If you decide to close down according to my choice, I will provide you with 10 million won in ’close-down support funds‘ out of my own pocket, and I will hire you as a member of our company’s development team.”
The boss thought for a moment, but then tore up the ‘close-down support funds’ card that Yoo Jung-soo handed him, indicating his intention to ‘disobey.’ The boss said, “I don‘t want to let down the expectations of the people who have helped me so far. I will continue to run the business.” Han Hye-jin cheered, saying, “The CEO’s decision is also a courageous choice,” and Kim Ho-young said, “I hope you will change your mind based on CEO Yoo Jeong-soo’s solution,” and gave them energy with his “patented” “pull up” gesture. After completing the solution, the CEO revealed the interior of the store, which pays thorough attention to hygiene management, and even developed a new menu, giving a “complete transformation” review.
SBS Plus’ “Anyone Can Be a CEO,” a small business solution program that exposes the myriad behaviors of “black consumers,” as well as provides proper support for closing down a business and survival consulting, airs every Thursday at 8:40 p.m. on SBS Plus.
