Even G-Dragon has jumped into the ‘music entertainment craze’ that has swept the broadcasting industry.
While the popularity of entertainment programs that combine music and survival shows such as KBS 2TV‘s ‘The Ddanddara’, ‘The Seasons: Lee Young-ji’s Rainbow’, ‘The Nation is a Singer’, SBS‘s ‘Universe League’, ‘Mr. Trot’ shows no sign of cooling down, competing programs are also arriving one after another.
G-Dragon, who recently made a splendid comeback after 7 years, has turned his attention to new music entertainment programs with the determination to be active this year.
He will show off his natural musical talent through MBC’s new entertainment program ‘Good Day’, which will premiere on February 16th. This is the first time that G-Dragon has taken the lead in an entertainment program.
‘Good Day’, which he collaborated with PD Kim Tae-ho, is a music project where G-Dragon invites people from various fields to complete the song of the year. He takes part in the producing himself and tells the guests‘ stories through music.
Since it is a program that started with an idea from G-Dragon, he is mobilizing all of his connections.
In fact, it boasts an ultra-luxurious lineup including Jung Hyung-don, Defconn, Jo Se-ho, who he is close friends with, as well as K-pop top group Espa, Seventeen unit Boo Seok-soon, Day6, and Big Bang’s Taeyang and Daesung. In addition to singers, Hwang Jung-min, Kim Go-eun, Kim Soo-hyun, Jung Hae-in, and Im Si-wan will also appear.
ENA‘s ‘Undercover’, which began broadcasting on the 12th, also aims to be a unique music entertainment program. Although it has the same format as a competition show, it features ‘popular figures’ who have garnered explosive attention for covering popular songs on various social media.
Jung Jae-hyung, Park Jung-hyun, and Lee Seok-hoon will participate as judges to select the best.
PD Park Sang-hyun, who is in charge of directing, said at a recent production conference, “Recently, there has been a new music trend where people listen to the original songs again through cover songs. I thought it would have a huge appeal if we made a program that reflected this.”
tvN STORY ‘Handsome Trot’, which will first air in February, will feature stars challenging trot.
It is a format where 12 male stars, including actor Jang Hyuk, who used to be a rapper TJ, Choo Sung-hoon, who is a former MMA fighter, Choi Dae-chul, In Kyo-jin, Ji Seung-hyun, Jang Hyuk, Jung Gyeo-woon, and Tae Hang-ho, will challenge themselves to trot. It is expected to be different from existing competitions between trot singers.
