Actress Kim Hye-soo has returned with an all-time character and performance through Disney+‘s original series ‘Trigger’.
Kim Hye-soo appeared in ‘Trigger’, which was first released on the 15th, as the hot-headed team leader Oh So-ryong with both a temper and venom.
In the drama, Oh So-ryong announces the birth of a ‘perfect cider character’ by grabbing the gun aimed at him with his own hand and shaking it, and even paragliding for reporting.
In episodes 1 and 2 of ‘Trigger’, which were released on this day, Oh So-ryong’s overwhelming charisma and reporting skills, as well as his sharp and agile appearance in crisis situations, caught the eye. Oh So-ryong played the role of a perfect team leader with a temper, venom, ability, humanity, leadership, and even sense.
The warm gaze toward assistant director Kang Ki-ho (played by Joo Jong-hyuk), who is overcoming the sorrow of being a non-regular worker with passion, and the outstanding ability to discover and embrace the potential of Han-do (played by Jeong Seong-il), whose attitude is as twisted as his twisted heart, stood out.
Although Oh So-ryong doesn‘t know where his new office is and there are dark and silly aspects to the rumors floating around the company, his overwhelming drive, judgment, and execution skills displayed at the reporting site, as well as his professional appearance, created small reversals and aroused curiosity about the character.
In particular, Kim Hye-soo’s new acting, which perfectly embodied the character of Oh So-ryong, also gave a pleasant surprise.
Oh So-ryong‘s appearance, with his hair tied back and wearing comfortable clothes, walkers, and sneakers, running around the site with a makeup-free face, was very realistically portrayed on screen and heightened empathy. Even while digging into serious incidents that put lives at risk, her cheerful and quirky side in everyday life became a likable point.
Kim Hye-soo perfectly became the character in the play by naturally expressing the conflicting charms of Oh So-ryong with her acting chemistry without any sense of incongruity. The appropriate weight and tone, and the voice and facial expressions that change without any sense of incongruity were expressed entirely as Oh So-ryong’s, making the viewers cheer for his activities.
‘Trigger’ is a work that depicts the story of vicious investigative journalism professionals who first stick their cameras into this flower-like world and expose the wrongdoings of the bad guys. The catharsis and vicarious satisfaction that Oh So-ryong will create by any means necessary to expose the wrongdoings of the bad guys, along with the added humor and wit, are expected to create a more solid foundation for the work.
‘Trigger’ will be released only on Disney+, and can be viewed as a total of 12 episodes, with two episodes per week.
