The ‘Old Couple’ has set out to restore their relationship through mediation.
On the JTBC ‘Divorce Consideration Camp’ aired on the 17th, the ‘Old Couple’, a wife who is in charge of childcare and housework and a husband who constantly nags her like a subordinate, opened their hearts and set out to improve their relationship through psychological drama solutions, lawyer consultations, and final mediation.
On this day, the ‘Old Couple’ went into couple psychological drama as the final solution to restore their relationship. In particular, Jin Tae-hyun reenacted the scene where the husband constantly nags his wife while waking up at the crack of dawn to pursue hobbies like playing the piano and baking. The husband, who saw himself clearly in front of his eyes, was greatly shocked and began to understand his wife‘s feelings. The wife, who rarely showed her emotions throughout the camp, also couldn’t stop crying when she realized the severity of her situation. For the first time, the wife mustered up the courage to be honest with her husband, and the husband also sincerely regretted his mistakes and showed his will to change.
Attorney Yang Na-rae, on the wife‘s side, was genuinely surprised by the wife’s remark during the consultation that it was natural for her to do the housework, saying, “It seems like I‘ve been brainwashed.” Attorney Yang Na-rae felt so sorry for the wife that she said she felt suffocated after seeing the husband take his wife, who needed postpartum care, to a taekwondo gym to practice. In addition, attorney Park Min-cheol, on the husband’s side, was greatly impressed when he heard the husband‘s enormous list of assets, including four houses (the house they live in + three apartments), 4,000 pyeong of land, seven cars, six motorcycles, and audio equipment worth hundreds of millions of won, during the consultation about the division of property. He has billions of won in assets.
During the final mediation that followed, the wife, who found out about her husband’s assets, was greatly surprised by the larger amount than she had expected, and demanded a 10-0 division of assets, saying that her husband had promised to give her all of his assets in the past. Contrary to everyone‘s expectations that the mediation would be difficult, the husband said that he would take one house, one car, and one motorcycle, and give up all the remaining assets for his wife and children, and the division of assets was completed smoothly. In addition, the husband said that he would not want to get a divorce if he could change, and that he would reduce his hobbies to help with childcare and show his actions instead of nagging, showing his will to change, and the mediation ended warmly.
Other couples also consulted with lawyers. The ‘Cheating Couple’, who experienced conflict due to their husband’s attraction to another woman, looked into whether the three incidents of suspected extramarital affairs committed by the husband were legally recognized as misconduct.
When the husband was asked by his wife, “Have you ever had sex with another woman after marriage?”, he answered, “No, absolutely not.” Previously, the husband had made excuses to his wife, saying, “I am clean and innocent. I almost did it, but I didn‘t. I was almost naked, but I said I was sorry and left.”
However, the test results regarding the husband’s answer came out to be false, and the wife was shocked by the result. In an interview with the production crew, the wife confessed, “I just wanted to run away. When I heard the results, it felt like my body stopped. It felt like all the blood was draining from my head to my toes.”
In the end, both the husband‘s and the wife’s lawyers determined that two of the three situations were extramarital affairs, and the wife‘s lawyer, Yang Na-rae, advised that it was important to secure evidence to do so, as she could even file a claim for alimony. Attorney Park Min-cheol, on the husband’s side, criticized the husband‘s claim that the affair was a form of revenge against his wife, saying that it was not a justifiable reason, and he was serious, saying that the husband’s words did not make sense and did not make any excuses.
