YG to close down acting business… Yoo Seung Ho → Yoo In Na - Joo Woo Jae to leave one after another [Official]

YG Entertainment is closing down its acting business. In order to focus on its main business of music, it has decided to reorganize its business structure and announced that it will end its actor management business as part of this.

YG stated, “We sincerely thank all the actors who have been with us and the fans who have shown us so much love. We will not spare any support needed until the end.”

Currently, more than 20 actors, including Kim Hee Ae, Cha Seung Won, Yoo Seung Ho, Yoo In Na, Jung Hye Young, Lee Soo Hyuk, Son Na Eun, Han Seung Yeon, Soo Hyun, Lee Sung Kyung, Jang Ki Yong, and Joo Woo Jae, are affiliated with YG Entertainment. In response to inquiries from Donga.com, YG stated that they will support actors with remaining contracts until the end of their contracts. After that, they plan to have a natural and beautiful farewell.

YG explained that they have been gradually preparing to focus on the music business. Last year, they absorbed YGX into their global training center and internalized its expertise and capabilities, and further strengthened the production system by expanding the internal producer staff from around 10 to around 50.

YG currently has Winner, AKMU, Baby Monster, TREASURE, and Eun Ji Won under its wing. Although each member of BLACKPINK is with their own agency, they are working with YG on group activities.

YG announced that Baby Monster will begin a world tour this year, starting with a concert in Seoul in January. TREASURE will continue their tight promotions with a mini-album, third full-length release, and a world tour in October following performances in four cities including New York, Washington D.C., Oakland, and Los Angeles through the ‘TREASURE 2025 FIRST US TOUR [SPECIAL MOMENT]’ in April.

They have also made thorough preparations for BLACKPINK, who will begin their world tour simultaneously with their comeback this year, by forming a separate project organization internally. They also plan to diversify their systematic support and collaboration for mega IPs owned by YG, such as 2NE1, who are successfully carrying out their 15th anniversary tour.

YG said, “We have been consistently working on restructuring our business to focus on our main business. We are making 2025 the first year where those efforts will bear fruit”, and we have increased the sustainability of existing IPs while accelerating the discovery and development of new IPs. “We will continue to strengthen our core competencies and solidify our leadership in the music industry, while recording another growth story for YG,” he said.
