tvN‘s weekend drama ‘Jeongnyeon’ Kim Tae-ri auditions for the Maeran Gugak Troupe.
Ahead of the second episode airing on the 13th, ‘Jeongnyeon’ (directed by Jung Ji-in/written by Choi Hyo-bi) released stills showing the main character Yoon Jeong-nyeon (played by Kim Tae-ri) auditioning to become a trainee for the ‘Maeran Gugak Troupe, the best gugak troupe of the time.
In the previous episode, Jeong-nyeon meets Moon Ok-kyung (played by Jung Eun-chae), a star in the gugak world who recognizes her talent at a glance. As a result, she dreams of becoming a ‘gugak actress’. Despite the dissuasion of her mother Yong-rye (played by Moon So-ri), who strongly dislikes singing, she runs away in the middle of the night and applies for the ‘Maeran Gugak Troupe’ audition. Accordingly, attention is being paid to how the story of the Mokpo girl who gave up everything and came to Seoul for her one ‘dream’ of the national theater will unfold in the future.
In the released photos, Jeongnyeon looks very timid, unlike her confident appearance in Mokpo, which makes the viewers’ hearts race. Jeongnyeon is holding the shoulder she injured in Mokpo and looking at the judges with a gloomy expression. In a situation where she has to be evaluated on her dancing and acting in addition to her singing, which she has always been confident in, curiosity is rising as to whether Jeongnyeon will be able to finish the audition safely.
The expression on the face of the troupe leader, Sobok, is intense. Her bold and stubborn eyes make even the viewers nervous. But beyond the tiger-like charisma, it seems like you can feel the complex and subtle feelings, which makes it interesting.
’Jeonnyeon’ Episode 2 will air today (the 13th) at 9:20 PM.
