Mnet‘s ‘Stage Fighter’ is throwing up another surprise.

The 4th episode of ‘Stage Fighter’ (abbreviated as ‘Stepa’), which will air on the 15th, will feature a casting audition for the main lead role in the dance film, along with a full-scale class movement.

Previously, in Korean dance, the main and sub leads for the dance film were selected through casting auditions, and as a result, First Rank Kimugan took on the main role, while Choi Hojong and Kim Jongcheol, who are also First Rank members, took on the sub leads, completing the all-time dance film ‘Origin of the King: Taepyeongseongdae’. The full version of the Korean dance film received a great response upon its release, entering YouTube’s Ingeupdong (popular rising videos) at number 9.

In the meantime, the class movement ceremony held in front of 64 dancers from three genres is expected to create a fierce tension. The first candidate for first demotion in Korean dance is the main lead Kimugan who plays the king, and the situation where the second candidate for demotion occurs between Choi Ho-jong and Kim Jong-cheol is arousing curiosity. The released preview contains a scene where the dancers experience the difference in the amount of main and sub roles directly at the dance film shooting site. The dancers were surprised by the sub role which seemed to have less presence than the corps dance.


The importance of casting auditions has been highlighted even more as it is an important indicator for determining candidates for promotion and demotion. Choi Ho-jong, who played the sub lead role, also confessed, “I think the casting audition system is a very important part. It seems a bit difficult to force confidence these days.” Another supporting lead role, Kim Jong-cheol, was also criticized with the harsh comment, “There’s nothing memorable about him.” In the midst of this, a scene is foreshadowed where the two move to locker rooms divided by rank.

In the 4th episode that will air on the 15th, there will be casting auditions for ballet and modern dance for the main lead role in the dance film.

According to the production team, the main lead role will be fought between ace Kang Kyung-ho, who took first place in ballet, and prince Jeong Sung-wook. There is growing curiosity about who will take the main lead role between first place Jeong Sung-wook, who fiercely attacked the military dance team, and Kang Kyung-ho, who received the harsh comment, “I want to say something nice, but I have nothing nice to say.” The war between first place modern dance Jeong Hye-sung, Kim Hyun-ho, and Kim Young-woong is also drawing attention. A tight fight between the three is foreshadowed along with a contemporary dance film spoiler that produced a legendary military dance scene.
