‘Youngbok, Sachiko: Drama Special 2024’ actors Kang Mina and Choi Ri show off a fierce and touching womance over Ha Jun.

KBS2‘s ‘Youngbok, Sachiko’ (directed by Park Dan-bi, written by Go Woo-jin) is a work that contains the fierce and touching story of two women who can never get close, Youngbok, a Korean wife, and Sachiko, a Japanese wife, who fight over one husband a year before the outbreak of the Korean War.

Actors Kang Mina and Choi Ri, along with Ha Jun, have confirmed their appearances, and in ‘Youngbok, Sachiko’ they portray the great humanity of those left behind after liberation. Kang Mina and Choi Ri become romantic rivals as they engage in a war of nerves over Ha Jun, but as time passes, they will show a deepening womance as they comfort each other.

Kang Mina plays the role of Gu Young-bok, Im Seo-rim’s Korean wife. Before liberation, Yeongbok married Im Seo-rim, a foreign student who went missing to avoid being taken to a comfort station, and took care of her sick parents-in-law in place of her husband whom she had never seen. After living as a widow for five years, she encounters a turning point in her life when she meets her husband who has returned to his hometown with his Japanese wife Sachiko.

Choi Ri plays Im Seo-rim‘s Japanese wife, Minami Sachiko. Sachiko is a strong-willed romantic who would cross the ocean for love, and promises to spend the rest of her life with Seo-rim, who came to study abroad in Japan. She comes to Seo-rim’s hometown with her unborn child and learns that her husband married Yeongbok five years ago.

Ha Jun plays Im Seo-rim, who ends up living with her Korean wife Yeongbok and her Japanese wife Sachiko. Seo-rim, who went to study abroad in Japan and went missing, finally returns to her hometown with her Japanese wife Sachiko four years after liberation. However, he finds out later that he is married and ends up living with two families, which was not in his fortune.

Kang Mi-na and Choi Ri start a thrilling battle for a husband, including a sharp love triangle with Ha-jun between them. Through the time of two women who fought fiercely and had to survive, it is expected to portray the great humanity that did not disappear even in the midst of the tragedy of history and remained on this land.

‘Youngbok, Sachiko’ is a fresh combination of Kang Mina, who is challenging her first female lead role on a terrestrial network, actress Choi Ri, who is receiving attention as a rising star, and Ha Joon, who has proven his stable acting skills and wide genre spectrum through numerous works. ‘Youngbok, Sachiko’ will leave a lingering impression and will air on Tuesday, November 19 at 10:45 p.m.
