YouTuber Kwak Jun-bin, who had been on hiatus due to the ‘school violence advocacy controversy’, will appear on SBS‘s ‘Paldo Chief of Staff’. ‘Paldo Chief of Staff’ contains the amazing 72-hour civil servant performance of celebrities who one day become local government officials.

The first part of SBS’s ‘Paldo Chief of Staff’, which will air on the 20th, will show Kim Dong-hyun and Kwak Jun-bin discovering the world of ‘real civil servants’ and the hidden charms of the region.

Kwak Jun-bin attracted attention with his unique behavior even before he officially started working. A month before filming the program, in July, a special meeting took place with the legendary instructor Jeon Han-gil, a daily instructor in Noryangjin and a mentor to civil servants.

Although he had experience as a working-level officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Azerbaijan, it is said that after listening to Jeon Han-gil‘s famous lectures and life advice to learn the mindset and attitude one should have before entering the new world of ‘officer,’ not only Kwak Jun-bin but also the production crew gained a lesson that made them slap their knees.

Kwak Jun-bin‘s workplace is Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do. It is a region that is considered a model case of responding to the crisis of local extinction, as it has ‘2nd highest total fertility rate in the country’, and has won the ’Population Increase Award‘ at the ‘2024 Local Government and Corporate Innovation Awards‘. Kwak Jun-bin, who was appointed as the chief officer of the ’Population Policy Division‘, the department at the forefront of population policy, not only skillfully handles everything from logging into the work system to writing business trip reports, but also shows the side of a mid-career rookie by advising a third-year employee on how to impress his superiors.

Meanwhile, SBS ’Paldo Chief Officer‘ is a three-part program that was selected for the ‘2024 KCA Broadcasting Program Production Support Project (Public Interest)’ and will contribute to the public interest by recording the culture, history, and nature of the region, as well as shedding light on hidden policies and regional competitiveness that have not received attention so far. In addition, it plans to shed new light on the previously unknown occupation of ‘chief officer’, and present diverse entertainment such as the joys and sorrows and sincerity contained in public office through close localism.
