Actress Chae Rim reveals, “I contacted my ex-husband first because my son wanted to see his dad.”

On the 2nd episode of the SBS Plus·E Channel jointly produced entertainment show ‘Because I‘m Solo’, which airs on the afternoon of the 5th, Chae Rim, who said, “I don’t know about other blessings, but I think the blessing of having children was given to me all at once (from heaven),“ reveals her daily life with her son.

Chae Rim, who is in her ‘2nd year of living in Jeju’, goes to a beach near her house with ‘1st grader’ Minwoo, who is on vacation that day. Chae Rim fills the car trunk with her luggage and sets off, arriving at the beach, which is 10 minutes away by car, she lifts all her luggage at once and moves it onto a platform. Chae-rim, who showed her ‘muscle warrior’ appearance, later goes into the sea and plays with Min-woo by pulling his tube. Also, she stands in the blazing sun holding a fishing net next to Min-woo, who is absorbed in ‘catch crabs’, and she even boils the crabs her son caught in ramen and eats them deliciously.

After playing in the water, Chae-rim returns home and enjoys tea time with her son. While they are there, Chae-rim plans her first overseas trip for the vacation and slyly suggests, “How about China? Ask dad to take you on a trip to China”. Min-woo says, “Okay”, but also asks a surprise question, “Why are you Chinese, dad? Didn‘t you originally live with me?” In relation to this, Chae Rim confesses to the studio cast, ”I had a hard time because I didn’t know how to answer when Minwoo asked me questions that were difficult to explain.“



Amidst curiosity about what kind of answer Chae Rim would have given to her son‘s unexpected question, Chae Rim also honestly reveals the story about her ex-husband whom she met with Minwoo in April of this year. Chae Rim opens by saying, ”When Minwoo said he wanted to see his dad, I contacted my ex-husband first,“ and then calmly adds, ”Minwoo is my number one priority, so I can put my pain aside for a moment.“ While saying, “It may be over for me, but I can’t do that to my child,” she mentions Min-woo who is happy to meet his father after 7 years, and adds, “When (her ex-husband) broke up, he thanked me (for raising the child well),” which moves everyone to tears.

Meanwhile, while we’re on the topic of her father, Chae-rim sends Min-woo’s message to his father, saying, “Want to send a voice message to your father?” A while later, she receives a reply, but attention is focused on what kind of reply her father will give her.

On the other hand, Chae-rim surprises the studio cast by relaying the “surprise” reaction Min-woo showed when he broke up with his father. Regarding Minwoo’s unexpected behavior, Shin Dong-yup is touched and says, ”I think he did it because he instinctively knew that his mom would be hurt.“
