Writer Park Chi-hyung revealed the drama‘s planning intentions and points to watch.

The new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Parole Judge Lee Han-shin’ (directed by Yoon Sang-ho, written by Park Chi-hyung), which will be aired for the first time on the 18th, depicts the thrilling, ironclad defense of lawyer Lee Han-shin (played by Go Soo), who becomes the final judge of inmates and ‘Parole Judge’, who stops people with bad conscience.

According to the production team, writer Park Chi-hyung, who wrote ‘Parole Judge Lee Han-shin’, revealed his thoughts on the work on the 7th. Writer Park Chi-hyung said, “Parole Judge Lee Han-shin” is “a drama that uses parole as its main subject matter and talks about justice and humanity.” He said, “After seeing an article criticizing the parole release of heinous criminals with a high risk of recidivism, I looked into the ’parole system‘. During that process, I thought it would be interesting to tell the story of a parole judge who can distinguish between inmates who are eligible for parole and those who should not be released early.”

Writer Park Chi-hyung, who wrote a piece featuring ’Parole Judge‘ as the main character, said that he researched materials by visiting related people. Writer Park Chi-hyung explained, “Before writing the script, I met with actual parole officers, prison guards, and lawyers who had experience handling parole-related requests, listened to their stories, and did some research.”

Perhaps it was thanks to these efforts that ‘Parole Officer Lee Han-shin’ was made into a drama after winning the grand prize at the 1st KT Studio Genie Contest. Writer Park Chi-hyung said, “I was glad that the judges acknowledged that the story I found interesting had potential,” and added, “I think the subject matter of ‘Parole Officer’, which is unique, fresh, and also timely, caught people’s attention.”

‘Parole Officer’ stars Ko Soo, Kwon Yu-ri, Baek Ji-won, and Lee Hak-joo. Writer Park Chi-hyung said, “I think the casting is 100% in sync with the script. I am grateful that they have so well implemented the characters I had imagined in my head. The satisfaction level is also 100%.”

Lastly, when asked about the points to watch for writer Park Chi-hyung, he said, “I think the great acting of the actors, including the handsome actor Go Soo-hyung, is the point to watch,” and answered, “I also hope you pay attention to the chemistry between Lee Han-shin (played by Go Soo), Ahn Seo-yoon (played by Kwon Yu-ri), and Choi Hwa-ran (played by Baek Ji-won), who seem like they wouldn’t go together, and the process in which they cooperate and implement justice.”

He continued, “The system of parole isn’t something that only happens in a distant country, so if you watch the drama and take an interest in the system of parole at least once, that in itself will be meaningful.”

“Parole Examiner Lee Han-shin” will premiere at 8:50 p.m. on the 18th.
