The ‘Griddle’ fever is already heating up.

It‘s been a month since the Netflix cooking survival program ‘Black and White Chef: Culinary Class Wars’ (Black and White Chef) that brought about the ‘chef craze’ ended, but its popularity still shows no signs of cooling down.

The recent confirmation of the production of Season 2 has made things even more heated. The production period for Season 1 took a full year and 2 months, and considering this, Season 2 is expected to be released in the “second half of next year” at the earliest, but there seems to be no concern at all.

This syndrome-level popularity is specifically revealed through various community bulletin boards.

Various blogs, bulletin boards, SNS, YouTube, etc. are actively promoting ‘virtual casting’ with titles such as “Expected Cast for Season 2””Expected Lineup”””Top 10 Chefs You Definitely Want to See”, drawing attention.

Recently, the production team revealed that world-famous chef Gordon Ramsay was their number one choice for casting and that he was “currently in contact”, and fans have been making various guesses, mentioning people and profiles that fit his description.

If you look at the faces of the chefs who have been nominated in accordance with the concept of “”Chefs taking off their ranks and competing solely on taste”, it is quite convincing.

First of all, the candidates for the ‘Baeksujeo’ are Lee Yeon-bok, a representative Chinese chef in Korea, Sam Kim, Raymond Kim, Jung Ho-young, and Lee Won-il. They have already competed in cooking survival shows such as ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator’ with Chef Choi Hyun-seok, a strong candidate to win Season 1.

In addition, the most frequently mentioned chefs are Korean cuisine master chef Lim Seong-geun, the winner of Season 3 of the Korean cooking competition program ‘Korean Food Battle’, and chefs Kim So-hee, Song Hoon, and Kim Hoon-yi, who were judges on the MasterChef Korea series.

The ‘Black Spoon’ candidate chefs are also interesting. Ryu Soo-young, also known as ‘Mr. Eo-nam’, and Cha Seung-won, ‘Housewife’, are drawing attention. In fact, Ryu Soo-young is known to have politely declined the request to appear in Season 1, and it is highly likely that he will appear in Season 2.

There’s also Kim Poong, a webtoon writer and the so-called ‘Master of Home Cooking’. He also declined the offer to appear in Season 1. ‘Attacker Chef’, ‘Taste Receiving’, ‘Bobchanam’, ‘Cooking King Biryong’, who are already considered “Star Chefs” on YouTube and elsewhere, are also mentioned as strong candidates.

Regarding this, PD Kim Hak-min, who was in charge of producing ‘Black and White Chef’, said, “Applications for appearing in Season 2 are pouring in. We met with over 500 candidates for Season 1, and I think there will be even more this time”, and “Nothing has been decided specifically yet, but we are positively discussing having the same judges as Season 1, Baek Jong-won and Ahn Sung-jae, appear”.
