Dex is Dex after all… Expectations for hexagonal abilities↑ (Zombieverse: New Blood)
Netflix‘s entertainment show ‘Zombieverse: New Blood’ is heralding hotter and more thrilling character play.
Netflix’s entertainment show ‘Zombieverse: New Blood’, which will be released on Tuesday, November 19, is a bigger and funnier zombie comedy variety show about the appearance of ‘New Blood’, the only hope in the midst of a threat from more powerful zombies, and solving extraordinary quests and dilemmas for survival.
The 14 survivors who will show off thrilling character play against the increasingly powerful zombies are drawing attention. ‘Career professionals’ Lee Si-young, DinDin, Dex, Tsuki, and Patricia, who hard-carried last season, have strengthened their survival skills based on their experience and are fully prepared. The activities of new faces ‘rookies’ Jo Se-ho, Defconn, Taeyeon, Yook Sung-jae, Code Kunst, Kwon Eun-bi, Kim Sun-tae, and Andre Rush who have been caught up in the zombie outbreak are also anticipated. In addition, the comeback of the mysterious ‘resurrected one’ Noh Hong-chul who returned from the dead is expected to be a big variable for the survivors and the best point to watch.
The character stills released this time make us look forward to the activities of the 14 people even more. First, the crazy laughter of ‘problematic’ resurrected one Noh Hong-chul steals the spotlight. The resurrection of Noh Hong-chul, who was thought to have died from the zombie virus, is a mystery itself. The sight of him running away from the survivors in his half-human, half-zombie form arouses curiosity. PD Park Jin-kyung explained, “Noh Hong-chul has returned as an NPC. He controls the cast with his unique, crazy words and actions and plays an active role as the key to solving the zombie situation.”
‘Zombieverse: New Blood’ is an expansion of the ‘Zombieverse’ worldview, and a full-fledged adventure begins. The survivors, who arrived at the temporary quarantine facility in Jeju Island on an evacuation ship, travel around the country to escape the rapidly spreading zombie virus threat. Amidst expectations for an even more spectacular survival game in the expanded zombie world, attention is focused on what kind of synergy and abilities the survival veterans and new members will each demonstrate to solve the extraordinary quest.
Lee Si-young, who led the ‘Zombieverse’ with her strong mentality and warm leadership, will once again show the true nature of a leader by equipping herself with the experience and wisdom to find realistic solutions. Taeyeon, a zombie and horror movie fanatic, will solve extreme quests with survival strategies that change her perspective. Code Kunst also shows off his extraordinary brain as an all-rounder who creates defense devices such as tools and weapons necessary for survival to increase his chances of survival. Expectations are high for the activities of ‘Brains’ Lee Si-young, Taeyeon, and Code Kunst, who will solve quests by suggesting survival strategies at the right time and place.
Yook Sung-jae and Dex will appear as versatile ‘Hexagon’ characters. The charisma of the two ‘hexagonal’ characters with a clear presence in the photo steals the spotlight. From singing to acting, the all-round ‘hexagonal idol’ Yook Sungjae shows the epitome of a growth-type character that upgrades through quests. Dex, the identity of ‘Zombieverse’ and an indispensable character, is a special forces veteran who, with his outstanding strategy and action skills, firmly protects the survivors from the threat of zombies. This season, he takes the lead and fights for the survival of his teammates. Expectations are high for the synergy that Dex and Yook Sungjae will display.
The ability to not panic in a zombie situation, observe the situation, and find a solution is also an essential ability. Dindin, the action leader with quick judgment, continues his role as the action leader calmly and boldly as someone with experience in zombie situations. The appearance of ‘Chungju Man’ Kim Suntae, captured in the quarantine facility, is also interesting. Kim Sun-tae, who is also an actual civil servant, calmly suggests a countermeasure with quick judgment based on his experience in administrative work.
Kwon Eun-bi with a strong ‘challenging spirit’, and Tsuki‘s bold performance are also anticipated. Kwon Eun-bi, who was caught in the swimming pool, as befitting the ‘Waterbomb Goddess’. We wonder what kind of boldness she will show in the face of an unimaginable zombie situation. Tsuki, who overcame her fear and played an active role, continues the fight against the zombies this season with her excellent athleticism and signature positive energy.
The ‘Strong characters’ who will fight the zombies at the forefront are the dependable Defcon and Andre Rush. Defcon, in particular, increases his survival index not only with his strength but also with his cool-headed crisis management skills. Andre Rush, a former soldier with a strong physique and former White House chef, shows off his overwhelming power over zombies. Jo Se-ho, who joined the zombie universe, shows off his extreme adaptability in the ever-changing zombie situation, adding to the fun with his performance that doesn’t miss out on either laughter or survival.
Patricia, who quickly overcame the grief of losing her older brother Jonathan in the previous ‘Zombieverse’ and succeeded in survival, prepared a costume that is easy to use in battles with zombies based on her experience, and showed her determination. Patricia‘s performance as a strong support group that actively supports her team members and gives them a sense of stability and trust is also anticipated.
PD Park Jin-kyung said, “Dex, Lee Si-young, and DinDin played a big role in developing the story and solving action quests based on their experiences in Season 1. They will also show performance that gives confidence to the new members,” raising expectations. He continued, “Jo Se-ho and Defconn are entertainers who are completely responsible for the laughter. Taeyeon and Yook Sungjae are growing characters, so you can look forward to seeing what they do,” he said. “Code Kunst and Kwon Eun-bi are people with hidden abilities. From the beginning, they stand up to the zombies confidently and show decisive action in times of crisis.”
Regarding Kim Sun-tae and Andre Rush, who have garnered attention for their unique occupations as a civil servant and a former soldier who are also White House chefs, the story started with the question, “What role would a civil servant play in a national disaster?” He is a character who gives advice to the guests, but also shows unexpected sides of himself. Andre Rush is a chef who is essential in a survival situation, and I thought that he would be an essential person with abilities because he is a former soldier. The members will come to rely on him, but he will show a surprising side in the future,” he said, leaving a meaningful comment along with the casting behind-the-scenes story.
