Newcomer actor Cha Jung-woo, Yoon Kye-sang‘s same-spot... Selected as the lead in BL drama ‘Secret Lovers’

Just Entertainment announced that it has signed an exclusive contract with newcomer actor Cha Jung-woo. At the same time, it was revealed that Cha Jung-woo has been cast as the lead role ‘Soo-hyun’ in the drama ‘Secret Lovers’, based on the webtoon of the same name.

‘Secret Lovers’, adapted from the popular webtoon of the same name by Kakao Entertainment, is a joint production by comprehensive content studio ‘Playlist’, Japan’s ‘Fuji TV’, and ‘Kakao Entertainment’, and deals with a complicated romance between coworkers.

The role of ‘Soo-hyun’, played by Cha Jung-woo, is a character who grows while experiencing wounds and pain, and must delicately express her complex inner conflicts. Cha Jung-woo, who boasts a mysterious appearance and a tall height of 188cm, is expected to bring the character to life with visuals that are just like the webtoon.

An official from Just Entertainment said, “Cha Jung-woo is an actor with the potential to express a variety of characters, and his charms will be widely displayed through ‘Secret Friends’.”

The drama ‘Secret Friends’ is scheduled to start filming in November and be released in the first quarter of 2025. The production lineup includes writer Jung Soo-yoon, who wrote ‘Boy‘s Flight’, ‘Your Taste’, as the creator, writer Lee Yoo-jin as the writer, and director Yang Kyung-hee, who has directed various works such as ‘When Your Temperature Reaches My Fingertips’, ‘Tractor Carries Love’, is in charge of directing, and is expected to portray delicate emotional lines.
