Ji-sun Jeong and Do-yoon Kim compete in a new beef menu! Golden Gyeongjang Yuksa vs. North Korean style Sundae, who will win?
Chefs Ji-sun Jeong and Do-yoon Kim mentioned the changes in sales after the broadcast of ‘Black and White Chef’.
On the episode of KBS 2TV ‘The Boss‘s Ears Are Donkey Ears’ (directed by Sang-eun Ahn/hereafter ‘Sadangwi’) that will air at 4:40 PM on Sunday, November 10, Chef Ji-sun Jeong will compete in a new beef menu with Chef Do-yoon Kim, a ‘Michelin 1-star’ and co-star of ‘Black and White Chef’.
Ji-sun Jeong prepares a traditional Chinese dish called Golden Gyeongjang Yuksa with green onions and cucumbers, while Do-yoon Kim prepares a new menu item called North Korean-style Sundae without noodles. Attention is focused on who will be the winner.
In particular, the two chefs talk about the changes in sales since the broadcast of ‘Black and White Chef’. Ji-sun Jeong says, “Sales have increased by about 3 times”, while Do-yoon Kim says, “We’ve escaped the deficit”, drawing exclamations from everyone. Along with this, Do-yoon Kim revealed, “I get a lot of calls from strangers asking to borrow money through SNS DM. The amounts vary greatly”, revealing that his concerns have deepened as his popularity has increased. Here, Jung Ji-sun suggests his own solution, saying, “I get a lot of DMs asking to borrow money ranging from 5,000 won to 50 million won. In those cases, the best approach is to just ignore them.”
On the other hand, Chef Kim Do-yoon makes everyone‘s eyes widen by suddenly opening a storehouse of flavors filled with secret recipes. Jung Ji-sun’s eyes widen and his mouth wide open at the sight of a world filled with ingredients from the land, sea, and air, from 3-year-old mackerel heads to 1-year-old duck esophaguses. Out of all of them, what caught Jung Ji-sun‘s attention was the 7-year-old pickled prickly ash. As soon as Chef Kim Do-yoon said, “Would you like some?”, Jung Ji-sun tasted the pickled prickly ash and said, “Please give it to me. It seems to go well with Chinese food as well,” he said, adding that he was keeping an eye on it, raising curiosity about whether Chef Kim Do-yoon would be able to protect the Sancho pickle that is like his 7-year-old child.
In addition, Ji-seon Jeong mentioned three taboos in the store: “beards, hair dyeing, and tattoos.” In particular, to Ji-seon Jeong’s comment that “beards don’t look hygienic,” Hyun-moo Jeon retorted, “Isn’t Chef Ji-seon Jeong’s eye makeup more dangerous than the beard?” and caused an explosion of laughter. The results of Ji-seon Jeong and Chef Kim Do-yoon’s beef menu battle that made viewers’ salivary glands explode can be found in “Sadanggwi.”
