Kim Hye-young, famous as the ‘defiant actress’, is accelerating her ‘hard streak’ after releasing a new song and being cast in a new daily drama.

According to her agency C&All on the 11th, Kim Hye-young was recently cast in the new MBC daily drama ‘Kind Miss Seon-ju’. She is attracting attention as she is making a comeback to the small screen after 20 years since the KBS drama ‘Love is in the Jujube Tree’, playing the role of a ‘bad guy’ customer at a neighborhood beauty salon.

Kim Hye-young, who is currently promoting as a singer and released the new song ‘Bad Boy’ in May, said, “I really wanted to act for a long time. “I want to pour all my talents into whatever I am called to do, whether it be acting, singing, or variety shows,” she said, expressing her strong desire.

‘Kind Miss Seon-ju’ is a human drama about the life remodeling of ‘Seon-ju’, a woman who tries to break up a bad marriage and start anew. The cast includes actors Shim Yi-young, Song Chang-eui, Choi Jung-yoon, and Jung Young-seop.

Meanwhile, Kim Hye-young‘s trot song ‘Bbdaksseon’, released in May, has sad yet cheerful lyrics, so she continues to receive requests to appear as a guest at singing class events.

‘Bbdaksseon’ is a song by composer Jung Kyung-cheon, also known as ‘Jung Chart’, and is a song that depicts the twists and turns of life. Kim Hye-young’s unwanted and bizarre personal history is included, making it feel even more genuine.

Jung Kyung-cheon said of Kim Hye-young, “When she first came to South Korea and started working, she wasn‘t able to break away from the North Korean style of singing, but in this song, ’Bbittakseon,‘ she shows maturity with a Korean pop song style singing style.”

Kim Hye-young was born in Chongjin, Hamgyeongbuk-do in 1972, and after much hardship crossed the Amnok River and came to South Korea in the winter of 1998. She attended Pyongyang University of Theatre and Film while in North Korea, and graduated from Dongguk University’s Department of Theatre and Film after defecting.
