‘It‘s fortunate that you get a good rest’ Big shot Park Se-ri has taken over both the 0.5 star uninhabited island and the hearts of viewers.
Episode 25 of the MBC entertainment program ‘It’s fortunate that you get a good rest’ (directed by Kim Myung-jin, Shin Hyun-bin, Lee Jun-beom, Kim Ki-ho / written by Kwon Jeong-hee / hereinafter ‘It‘s fortunate that you get a good rest’) that aired on the 11th depicted the story of big shot executive challenger Park Se-ri, executive Kim Dae-ho who steps forward to support her, Kim Min-kyung, and Golden Child’s Jang Jun. The sight of big shot Park Se-ri operating a 0.5 star uninhabited island on an unprecedented scale captivated viewers.
The viewership ratings also responded. According to Nielsen Korea, a viewership research agency, the broadcast that day recorded a viewership rating of 5.2% nationwide, taking first place among all Monday entertainment programs. The 2049 viewership ratings, a key indicator of channel competitiveness and topicality, also recorded the highest figure among Monday entertainment shows, firmly maintaining its position as the strongest Monday entertainment show. On this day, Park Se-ri, who visited a 0.5-star uninhabited island, revealed her extraordinary ambitions, saying, “I came to take over the island.” Hearing this in the studio, ‘CEO Ahn’ Ahn Jung-hwan worried and said, “Executive Kim Dae-ho shouldn‘t be discouraged,“ but as soon as he met Park Se-ri on the island, current executive Dae-ho seemed nervous, overwhelmed by her charisma.
Park Se-ri’s first plan to take over the island was to create ‘Seri Park’ on the uninhabited island. Ahn Jung-hwan decided to develop the sea behind the 0.5-star uninhabited island, which he had not even thought of developing, into a leisure complex for guests. Park Se-ri and her workers first installed a safety line connecting the ends of the islands. Crossing the 200m sea in a non-powered boat and installing a safety line drastically reduced the stamina of Park Se-ri and her workers.
However, Park Se-ri never gave up. He said, “Once I start, I’m the type to do it until I like it,” and completed the work with all his might despite the difficulties. Thanks to this, a spacious safety zone three times larger than the existing kayak zone on a 0.5-star uninhabited island was secured, creating a leisure space.
Park Se-ri then wanted to create a “self-fish bar” like a snack corner in Seri Park. This is a self-bar where customers can catch and fry fish themselves. To do this, Park Se-ri and Kim Dae-ho caught fish, and Kim Min-kyung and Jang Jun moved materials to create a self-kitchen where they could fry fish. In this process, Park Se-ri threw herself on the ground to catch the crabs under the rock, burning with passion.
Ahead of the full-scale demonstration, Jang Jun caused a major accident by spilling the container containing the crabs into the sea while washing them. The crabs escaped, and Park Se-ri watched this in silence. The workers worked hard to catch the crabs that escaped into the sea in order to survive. After barely securing a similar amount as the first quantity, Park Se-ri created crispy and delicious fried crabs. The ‘Self-Crab Bar’, which was both fun to catch and fun to make, foreshadowed Seri Park‘s great success.
Park Se-ri’s plan did not end there. When the secret weapon he had prepared, the ‘Water Bicycle’, appeared, everyone was surprised and could not hide their admiration. Kim Dae-ho and Jang Jun, who went out for a delivery and test drive, were completely captivated by the speed and stability of the water bike. With this, a water leisure zone was created with kayaks, water balls, and water bikes. In addition, a fishing zone was installed in the best spot, completing Seri Park, which is comparable to a high-end resort.
Park Se-ri and her workers went out to the sea for dinner for the guests. Despite arriving at the golden fishing ground that Kim Dae-ho had mentioned, there were no large seafood items. Kim Dae-ho and Jang Jun continued to catch only conches, and the situation of Park Se-ri and Kim Min-kyung on the rocks was similar. Park Se-ri, who had brought an extra-large bowl herself to treat the guests to a plentiful meal, gradually became angry at the prospect of not being able to fill it.
Kim Dae-ho noticed because of Park Se-ri, who was angry, and even Ahn Jung-hwan ignored her, saying, “I won’t watch it.” Kim Dae-ho was becoming increasingly discouraged as he couldn’t even fill a bucket, let alone a bowl. Still, Kim Dae-ho gathered his strength and grabbed the fish, saying, “I’m hanging on!” He dramatically discovered an octopus and caught it after a bloody fight that splashed water. Only then did Park Se-ri’s face brighten.
Big-time Park Se-ri wasn’t very pleased, saying, “I’ve never caught this little,” but he was capable of making a lot of food with few ingredients. Park Se-ri decided on ‘Stir-fried Octopus in a Pot Lid’, ‘Sola Turtle Hand Spicy Noodles’, and ‘Clear Seafood Stew’ for dinner. Big-time Park Se-ri also had a different process for preparing the food. Everyone was amazed by his cooking, which included using large quantities of seasoning and taking care to even season the food.
Above all, ‘Thank goodness’ was the first time that food was served to customers with the lid of the pot. In addition, Kim Dae-ho‘s idea was to add a service where the pot would be placed on charcoal so that the stew could continue to be warm. It was Park Se-ri’s signature dish, with a large portion that even the staff could eat generously after serving the customers until their legs broke.
Meanwhile, the trailer released at the end of the broadcast showed the first appearance of ‘Thank goodness’, raising expectations for the new dish that Park Se-ri will create. ‘Thank goodness’ airs every Monday at 9 p.m. on MBC.
