Hello. I am actress Kim Hye-yoon. Thank you so much for selecting me for Donga.com‘s Pick. I received so much love this year, and I am so happy to receive this award because of it.


Q. What did you think when you saw the name of the award (Hye.Up.Twi)?

In the drama, I was the one carrying the others, so it feels new to be receiving an award that carries me. I think it is especially nice that my name is on the award. I will treasure this cute award.


Q. The meaning of ‘Seonjae Carrying Me On My Back’ to Kim Hye-yoon

All of my works are precious, but this year, the character Sol in ’Seonjae Carrying Me On My Back’ received a lot of love, and because of that, I had more opportunities as an actress and had more time to meet fans in Korea and abroad, so I think it will be more memorable.


Q. Your real ideal type is Ryu Seon-jae? Kim Tae-sung? Baek In-hyeok?

I mentioned this in a previous interview after the show ended, but I want to date Kim Tae-sung, marry Ryu Seon-jae, and remain good friends with Baek In-hyeok. My specific ideal type is 34-year-old Seon-jae, who had a deep affection for Sol-i.


Q. When you look at a work, what is the main focus, and how do you feel when that fits?

Even if my character doesn‘t necessarily stand out, I think I choose works that have an interesting story overall and where I think my role in it is clear. If there’s one thing I gain from that work, I think it‘s that I put meaning into it.

Q. I know that you get recognized a lot from overseas as well as domestically. What was a memorable reaction from overseas fans?

Whenever I go abroad for fan meetings or official schedules, there are a lot of people who speak to me in Korean. I’m grateful that through me, they have developed an interest in Korea and a desire to learn Korean.


Q. In 2024, saying goodbye to ’Seonuptwi‘ Im Sol... (to. Im Sol‘s feelings)

Sol, you’ve had a hard time going back and forth between the past and the present this year. I hope that from now on, you‘ll only have days of laughter, as there were many days when you cried. I was so happy that I could live your life, even if only for a little while, and I learned a lot and had fun. Thank you, Im Sol.
