Actor Lee Yi-kyung made everyone laugh by revealing the pressure his parents put on him to get married.
At the online production conference for Channel A‘s new weekend drama ‘Marry You’ held on the 15th, Lee Yi-kyung said, “Many people know my representative works from the entertainment programs ‘I’m Solo’ and ‘Brave Detectives’. I hope that the viewers will feel happy while watching this drama and think, ‘Lee Yi-kyung has this kind of side to him.’. I think he‘ll be able to erase the villain role he showed in the previous tvN drama ‘Marry My Husband’.”
He then introduced his role as the innocent island bachelor Bong Cheol-hee as “a character that you can’t hate no matter what he does,”and smiled “Bong Cheol‘s unique, ignorant smile. My gums have receded and I was about to get dental treatment, but I deliberately postponed the treatment because I thought it wouldn’t be realistic if the island bachelor character had teeth that were too neat. The timing was just right,“ he said, sharing his unexpected preparation process.
When asked about his views on marriage, Lee Yi-kyung said, ”Actually, I‘m the only one among the cast who is of marriageable age. My parents are really anxious.“
In addition, ”A few days ago, my parents showed me a family photo, and there was a circle on the woman’s face. They said, ‘Look carefully,’ and I said, ‘It’s hard to do it this way.‘ From my perspective, I want to get married, but it’s hard to make a decision right away and it‘s hard to meet someone. “I wanted to get married since I was in my 20s, and I still want to get married,” he said, making the audience burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, ‘Marry YOU’ is a comic family drama about a couple matching between single and married couples, about a civil servant named Jeong Ha-na (Jo Soo-min) who struggles to get married to an island bachelor named Bong Cheol-hee (Lee Yi-kyung) in order to escape the marriage fraud team.
