Singer Baek Ji-young appeared on SBS PowerFM (107.7MHz) ‘Two O‘Clock Escape Cultwo Show‘ on the 15th. Baek Ji-young has been actively promoting her recently released her 25th anniversary album.
Baek Ji-young emphasized the differences between the title song ‘That’s Right’ and the song, saying, “It‘s a ’white ballad‘ (Baek Ji-young style ballad), but it’s different from my previous desperate and sorrowful style in that it‘s calm and bold.” The news that Kangta was in charge of composing and directing this new song also caught attention, but Baek Ji-young stated that she did not ask Kangta directly, but “I decided on it through a blind monitor at Song Camp.”
Baek Ji-young also mentioned the reason she shed tears while recording the new song. Baek Ji-young said, “My daughter came when we were almost done recording. This song is sad, but it was warm to me. The song is warm, my daughter is outside, and I am overwhelmed with gratitude,” explaining the reason for her tears.
Baek Ji-young’s new song’s music video has become a hot topic as it was directed by star director Lee Eung-bok, who directed the dramas ‘Descendants of the Sun’, ‘Goblin’, and ‘Mr. Sunshine’. This music video is director Lee Eung-bok’s debut music video. The title ‘That’s Right’ was also created by director Lee Eung-bok, but it was originally titled ‘Pencil’, written by Kangta, which garnered much attention.
This music video also garnered attention due to rumors of a romantic relationship between the main characters, Nana and Chae Jong-seok. Baek Ji-young revealed, “We made three versions of the teaser, including the ‘100 Kisses’ version that I made as a joke. The version with only the kissing scenes is also worth watching.” He added that the video can be seen on Baek Ji-young’s Instagram account.
Baek Ji-young also said that she has a dance song she has been working on, but has not been able to find a male featuring. Baek Ji-young revealed her concerns, saying, ”Taecyeon made one full circle back then, but now it‘s time to make two full circles.“ Kim Tae-gyun suggested ”Shownu of Monsta X,“ and Baek Ji-young smiled with satisfaction, making everyone laugh.
‘Two O’Clock Escape Cultwo Show’ can be heard every day from 2 PM to 4 PM on SBS Power FM 107.7MHz, and can also be enjoyed as a radio broadcast through the official YouTube channel ‘Erao’.
