‘Namib’ director “Does it remind you of Min Hee-jin? I don‘t care... I’m just focused on our work”
Director Kang Min-goo revealed his thoughts on the Min Hee-jin issue.
At the ‘Namib’ production conference held at the The Saint Grand Ballroom on the 6th floor of Sindorim D-Cube City, Guro-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 16th, Director Kang responded to some reactions that said that Kang Soo-hyun, played by Go Hyun-jung, reminded him of Min Hee-jin. In the drama‘s worldview, Kang Soo-hyun, a star producer who was fired from Pandora Entertainment, and Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of Adore who produced New Jeans in the real world but was effectively kicked out of Hive, are similar.
Director Kang said, “I knew what the reaction would be. However, ‘Namib’ is a work that was produced and planned before that happened. I don’t really care about that reaction. “Our work is our work,” he said, “and we are devoting ourselves to creating our work.”
“Namib” is a drama that contains the story of a fired star producer, Kang Soo-hyun (played by Go Hyun-jung), and a released long-term trainee, Yoo Jin-woo (played by Ryeo-woon), as they each move forward toward their own goals. It will first air on ENA at 10 p.m. on Monday the 23rd, and streaming will be provided for free on KT Genie TV and Genie TV Mobile immediately following the original broadcast.
