Go Soo has captured evidence that could prevent the parole of a conglomerate chairman.
In episode 9 of the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Parole Examiner Lee Han Shin’ (directed by Yoon Sang Ho, written by Park Chi Hyung) that aired on the 16th, the truth of the past that had been hidden until now was revealed, and the reason why the Oh Jung Group must be brought down so that the same tragedy does not happen again became clearer.
On that day, Lee Han Shin (played by Go Soo) fabricated an assault incident in prison in order to clear Cheon Soo Beom‘s (played by Cho Seung Youn) name and transferred him to an outside hospital. Cheon Soo Beom showed a frightened attitude toward Lee Han Shin’s offer to “clear your name”, saying “I don‘t want the people close to me to get hurt because of that time”.
Lee Han Shin decided to hear the truth about that day from someone else, not Cheon Soo Beom. The target was none other than prison warden Bae Han-seong (Ryu Tae-ho), who had been promoted to warden after the Cheon Soo-beom incident. To do this, Lee Han-shin and Park Jin-cheol (Lee Do-yeop), who had set up a drug distribution case in the prison just like back then, pressured him when he was surprised by the evidence.
The truth that came out of Bae Han-seong’s mouth was shocking. Cheon Soo-beom was falsely accused because of the drug-filled pen that Bae Han-seong delivered, and Cheon Soo-beom knew that Lee Han-shin and Park Jin-cheol would also be kicked out, so he alone took all the blame. Lee Han-shin also realized that parole officer Jeong-wook (Park Jeong-hak) was deeply involved in this case, and realized that he had to involve him in order to reveal the truth of that day.
On the other hand, Ji Dong-man (Song Young-chang) came out of the prison to deal with Im Jeong-gyun (Im Hyo-woo), who had been arrested by Metropolitan Investigation Unit Inspector Ahn Seo-yoon (Kwon Yu-ri), so that no more evidence would leak out. However, Im Jeong-gyun was already taken away by Myeong-seop (played by Lee Hak-joo). Myeong-seop, who had the same thoughts as Ji Dong-man, committed another sin by killing Im Jeong-gyun himself.
Ji Dong-man, who had failed in dealing with Im Jeong-gyun, changed his path and went to find Choi Hwa-ran (played by Baek Ji-won), Lee Han-shin‘s assistant. Choi Hwa-ran’s people could not defeat the Ojeong Group people. In the end, Choi Hwa-ran was beaten by Ji Dong-man and suffered the humiliation of having to kneel. However, Choi Hwa-ran did not give in and cursed, warning, “You know because you‘ve rolled around too? Seeds like us get thorns the more we step on,” and collapsed.
Ahn Seo-yoon, based on a feeling she had during the interrogation of Im Jeong-gyun, set out to find video evidence left behind by the dead Choi Jeong-hak (played by Nam Min-woo). The necklace that was Choi Jeong-hak’s keepsake was a USB containing footage of Jimyeong-seop‘s crime scene. Ahn Seo-yoon confronts the truth of that day for the first time. Seeing Jimyeong-seop and Ohjeong Group’s Chief Secretary Son Eung-joon (Kim Young-woong) trying to treat and dispose of his younger sister Ahn Da-yoon (Kim Ye-na), who was beaten by Jimyeong-seop and bleeding, as if she were dead, Ahn Seo-yoon burst into tears, saying, “She‘s alive. She’s alive.”
The first thing to do to bring down Ohjeong Group was to make Ji Dong-man‘s next parole release possible. With Choi Won-mi (Hwang Woo-seul-hye) withdrawing the lawsuit, it was almost certain that Ji Dong-man would be released next, but if they could secure evidence that he had left prison without permission this time, they could prevent his parole.
Lee Han-shin found the taxi Ji Dong-man was riding in with the help of Ahn Seo-yoon and crashed into it. Lee Han-shin, who was filming while pretending to collect evidence of a traffic accident, vividly captured Ji Dong-man in the taxi and said, “You left without permission during an external treatment. It looks like this parole release will fall through again,” laughing heartily, providing a thrilling catharsis.
Meanwhile, the broadcast that day recorded an average of 6.1% nationwide, a peak of 7.2%, and an average of 6% in the metropolitan area, a peak of 7%. (Nielsen Korea, based on paid platforms)
