Singer Oh Seung-ha catches the eye by showing off his loyalty to Son Tae-jin, who is the same age as him.
On the MBC Standard FM ‘Son Tae-jin‘s Trot Radio’ broadcast on the afternoon of the 5th, singers Lee Ae-ran and Oh Seung-ha appeared as trot singers with a background in traditional Korean music, showing off their outstanding live skills and witty banter.
When DJ Son Tae-jin introduced her as “a singer who makes the Sontra family happy and a trot singer who is a successor of the national intangible cultural heritage Gyeonggi folk songs”, Oh Seung-ha greeted her as “Seungha Seung-ha, the flower Seung-ah”, brightening up the studio atmosphere.
Son Tae-jin then mentioned her age by saying, “I thought Oh Seung-ha was really young, but he is the same age as me, born in the year of the dragon, which is rare in the trot world”, and said, “When I first met him, I called him oppa”, and Oh Seung-ha responded with, “Even if we are the same age, someone who can make me feel warm and comfortable is oppa”, making everyone laugh.
Son Tae-jin, who introduced his history of majoring in Korean traditional music at Hanyang University after graduating from the National Traditional Arts High School, said that he has proven his skills by winning many awards in various competitions and requested a live performance because he wanted to see the skills of the winners. In response, Oh Seung-ha showed off his skills as a Gyeonggi folk song inheritor with ‘Changbu Taryeong’, and then performed his new song ‘Happy Ajusshi’ live in the studio.
On that day’s broadcast, the fact that Lee Ae-ran and Oh Seung-ha are from Gangwon-do became a hot topic. They are from Hongcheon and Hoengseong respectively. Son Tae-jin said that when Oh Seung-ha appeared on MBC‘s ‘The Nation of Trot’ as a representative of Gangwon-do, a large article the size of a newspaper ran in the local paper.
Oh Seung-ha then presented a quiz song by rewriting the Gyeonggi folk song ‘Gunbam Taryeong’ and boasting about Gangwon-do’s famous places and specialties. He then concluded the day‘s broadcast by singing ‘Let’s Float the Boat’, which showcases his traditional Korean music singing style.
While appearing on broadcasts with ‘Happy Ajusshi’ and ‘Bundang‘s Night’, which were released in September, Oh Seung-ha is continuing musical communication with the public through various traditional event stages and local festivals.
