‘KBS 2025 Countdown Show LIGHT NOW’ has been completely canceled due to the passenger plane crash.
On the 30th, KBS announced that “‘KBS 2025 Countdown Show LIGHT NOW’ (directed by Ko Kook-jin, composed of Jeong In-hae, Jeong Da-young, Kim Hye-rim, Kang Eun-sil, Kim Eun-sol, and Kim Soo-ah, hereinafter referred to as ‘Countdown Show’) has been canceled.”.
The ‘Countdown Show’ was scheduled to be held on the 31st at the outdoor stage in front of the Shinsegae Department Store main branch in Myeongdong Square, Seoul and broadcast live on KBS 2TV, but the decision to completely cancel was made in consultation with the organizers in order to share in the people‘s deep sorrow over the Jeju Air passenger plane crash.
KBS said, “We plan to sequentially send cancellation text messages to those who won tickets to the audience. He said, “We ask for the generous understanding of K-pop fans and viewers who have been looking forward to this ‘Countdown Show.’”
He also expressed his condolences, saying, “I pray for the souls of the victims of the accident to rest in peace and offer my deepest condolences to their bereaved families.”
At approximately 9:03 am on the 29th, a Jeju Air passenger plane departing from Bangkok, Thailand crashed and exploded at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province. There were 181 people on board the plane, including 179 South Korean nationals and 2 Thai nationals, and 179 people died, excluding the two who were rescued. The government designated a seven-day national mourning period from that day until January 4th of next year in relation to the Jeju Air accident.
