KBS said, “The ‘2024 KBS Drama Awards’, which was scheduled to be broadcast live on KBS-2TV at 7 p.m. on the 31st, will cancel the photo wall event and live broadcast and proceed as a recorded broadcast.”.

At around 9:03 AM on the 29th, a Jeju Air passenger plane from Bangkok, Thailand crashed and exploded at Muan International Airport in Jeollanam-do. A total of 181 people, including 179 South Korean nationals and 2 Thai nationals, were on board the plane, and 179 people died, excluding the 2 who were rescued. The government designated a 7-day period of national mourning from that day until January 4th of next year in relation to the Jeju Air accident.
