‘Marry YOU’ Lee Yi-kyung went on his first blind date.

The second episode of Channel A‘s Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Marry YOU’ (written by Lina/directed by Hwang Kyung-sung) that aired on November 17th depicted the story of the Marriage Fraud Promotion Team (hereafter referred to as the “Decisive Team”) who entered into their first matching to make Cheol-hee’s (played by Lee Yi-kyung) marriage happen.

In the previous episode, Hana (played by Jo Soo-min) gave a refreshing soda to Ki-jun (played by Koo Jun-hoe), whom she had reunited with after three years, by slapping him in the face. However, the relationship between Hana and Ki-jun, which was thought to have ended with a slap on the face, was rekindled. Ki-jun was appointed as the team leader of the Decisive Team that Hana was a part of. Unlike Hana, who didn‘t show even a shred of lingering attachment, Ki-jun seemed to have regrets, sorrows, and secrets he couldn’t tell others. This piqued viewers‘ curiosity as to what secret Ki-jun couldn’t confess to Hana.

In the midst of this, the members of the team that decided to go with Ki-jun and started to look for Cheol-hee‘s first match in earnest. However, finding a suitable match for Cheol-hee wasn’t easy. It was hard to find applicants who would be sincere to Cheol-hee, and the ideal types chosen by the applicants were somewhat different from Cheol-hee. After much searching, the team that decided to go with Cheol-hee found Min-ji (played by Choo So-jung).

Cheol-hee and Min-ji had something in common in that they wanted to meet someone who was like home cooking, but their ideas of ‘home cooking’ were different. For Cheol-hee, home cooking meant a meal that could be comfortably shared, while for Min-ji, home cooking meant a special meal shared with just one person. Cheol-hee‘s first match failed due to differences in values, but Hana called it a “failure that was like success”. This was because she felt a humane charm in Cheol-hee’s consideration for others during the blind date process. In that way, Hana strengthened her will for Cheol-hee‘s next match in hope.

Also, the first meeting between Cheol-hee and In-ah (played by Ji-soo) was depicted in the broadcast that day. Cheol-hee appeared like a comet and saved In-ah, who was exposed to a very dangerous situation. Even though he looked like a wet rat, Cheol-hee looked after In-ah, who was injured, first and affectionately gave her a teddy bear band. That night, In-ah felt excited as she looked at the teddy bear band that Cheol-hee gave her, thinking that she had met her destined partner.

At the end of the broadcast, Cheol-hee, Hana, Ki-jun, and In-ah had a thrilling lion encounter. It was thanks to Cheol-hee becoming a hot topic as the ‘Pipe-Blowing Cart Man’ after helping children in trouble by putting them on a Diane Mart cart. Hana, who was worried that Cheol-hee’s fame would ruin the project for the suicide team, went straight to the official residence where Cheol-hee was staying, and there she encountered In-ah, who had come to find Cheol-hee. Since witnessing the scene where Ki-jun and In-ah cheated, Hana also met In-ah for the first time in three years. The situation became more exciting with Ki-jun appearing while Hana and In-ah were in a tense standoff surrounding Cheol-hee. The four people‘s strange tension amidst the unpredictable situation heralded a new chapter in the drama and raised expectations.

The four main characters, Cheol-hee, Hana, Ki-jun, and In-ah, finally met. Thanks to the four people who showed fantastic synergy regardless of whether they were together or apart, the viewers’ immersion skyrocketed. The ending scene in particular raised expectations by foreshadowing that the relationship between the four people would gain momentum in the future. Next week, attention is focused on what kind of story will make viewers at home laugh and empathize.
