Park Jae-chan, check-in complete for first historical drama lead role in ‘Check In Hanyang’
Actor Park Jae-chan has challenged his first historical drama.
Park Jae-chan appeared in episodes 1 and 2 of Channel A‘s Saturday-Sunday drama ‘Check In Hanyang’, which aired on the 21st and 22nd, as Go Soo-ra, a man who does not tolerate injustice and speaks his mind. He left a lasting impression on viewers from the first episode as Go Soo-ra, an educational officer at Yongcheonru, the best inn in Joseon that upholds the arrogant value of ‘The customer is king’.
In the first episode, Park Jae-chan immersed himself in the role of Go Soo-ra, an upright young man who cannot stand seeing someone cutting in line while waiting to enter Yongcheonru and steps in. Go Soo, who could not stand injustice, shouted at the Yongcheonru employee, “You have to follow the order,” and showed the appearance of a young man living an upright life in Joseon by stopping Hong Deok-soo (played by Kim Ji-eun) from trying to tease her husband who was cutting in line.
In episode 2, Go Soo was shown to be in full swing with the ‘Haona 4-member gang’. Along with Lee Eun-ho (played by Bae In-hyeok), Hong Deok-soo, and Chun Jun-hwa (played by Jung Gun-joo), he became a member of the ‘HaHa Bang’. While Go Soo-ra regrets becoming a member of the ‘HaHaBang’, she is determined to survive and continue her education at Yongcheonru. When the educational servants of the ‘Choi Sang-bang’ harass her by mentioning her ruined family, Lee Eun-ho and the ‘Haona Four-member Gang’ even engage in a bet to throw a ball at the risk of the entire school being expelled.
Among them, Park Jae-chan caught the viewers’ attention with his distinct facial features and beautiful hanbok. With his deep eyes and strong voice, he portrayed Go Soo-ra with a completely different vibe from his previous work. In particular, he left a strong impression with his acting that seemed to contain his emotions but also show his resentment due to the educational servants who ignored his ruined family.
Park Jae-chan has built up a diverse filmography with the dramas ‘Semantic Error’, ‘We, Home’, ‘Playing Woman’, and has now taken on his first historical drama challenge with ‘Check In Hanyang’. He perfectly transformed into the character of Go Soo-ra from ‘Joseon Misaeng’, who speaks the truth without hesitation.
‘Check In Hanyang’, starring Park Jae-chan, airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM on Channel A.
